Arthur Gonzalez JDM Engines are sold strictly for the following purposes:
Approved Uses
- Replacement of worn or damaged stock engines
- Off-road vehicle applications
- Show car and display purposes
- Educational and training purposes
- Restoration projects
Prohibited Uses (Voids Warranty)
- Street racing or competitive racing
- High-performance modifications (adding turbos to N/A engines)
- Commercial racing applications
- Drag racing, drifting, or track events
- Any illegal street activities
Buyer Responsibility
Important: Customer Assumes Full Responsibility
By purchasing an engine from Arthur Gonzalez JDM Engines, the buyer assumes complete responsibility for:
- Installation: Proper installation by a qualified technician.
- Compatibility: Ensuring the engine fits the intended vehicle application.
- Compliance: Meeting all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Emissions: Ensuring compliance with EPA and CARB standards for street use.
- Safety: All safety considerations and vehicle modifications.
EPA Compliance Notice
Important EPA Information
Many JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) engines were not originally certified for use on US roads under EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) regulations.
- Off-Road Use: These engines may be used in off-road vehicles and applications.
- On-Road Use: Customer must ensure EPA compliance for street-legal vehicles.
- State Regulations: Additional state emissions requirements may apply.
- Certification: Customer is responsible for any required emissions testing or certification.
Engine Testing & Inspection
All refurbished engines undergo comprehensive testing and inspection before shipment:
Standard Testing
- Compression testing on all cylinders
- Leak-down testing for internal integrity
- Visual inspection of all components
- Oil pressure verification (where applicable)
- Crankshaft rotation check
Available Documentation
Compression and leak-down test results are recorded and available upon request for any engine purchase.
Installation Requirements
Professional Installation Recommended
We strongly recommend professional installation by a qualified automotive technician experienced with JDM engine swaps.
- Proper engine mounting and alignment
- Correct wiring harness connections
- Fluid Specifications: Use only OEM-approved fluids.
- Break-in Procedure: Follow standard break-in procedures for new installs.
Installation Considerations
- Engine mounts may require modification or replacement.
- Wiring harness adaptation may be necessary (USDM vs JDM pinouts).
- ECU programming or replacement might be required.
